The Ugg Boot or just Uggs is a generic term for a style of sheepskin boot which has been produced in Australia and New Zealand for over 100 years. Originally they were called “Ug or Ugh Boots” which is short for “Ugly”. They were traditionally worn by shearers working in the wool industry, to keep their feet warm. They called it ugly boots. During World War 1, Australian pilots and navigators in open-cockpit aeroplanes found the boots useful on cold mornings. Later, in the 1960’s the boots became popular with young Australian surfers and the Ugg boot trend began to grow. In the 1970s an American surfer began importing the boots to the USA. It was this American surfer who created the brand UGG Australia and went on to sell the company to Deckers Corporation in 1995. The popularity of the boots began to sky rocket as people soon realized the benefits and comfort of the Auzzie made boots.
UGG is made of 1st grade Australian sheepskin which is very soft. It feels so comfortable more than like wearing a pair of socks. That’s why it is so popular.
UGG is not only designed for winter, but also for spring and autumn, even for summer. In winter, the wool inside of UGG can keep you warm.
